Privacy policy

How we handle your data, in plain language.

This English translation is provided for convenience only. The German version is legally binding.

1. Controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:
Mateeria App OÜ, represented by the owner and authorised representative Brigitta Ziegler
Estonian registry code (Registrikood): 17569336
Libatse keskus 9-17, Libatse küla, Põhja-Pärnumaa vald, 87202 Pärnumaa, Estonia
Email: mati.ziegler@mateeria.com

2. General information on data processing

As a rule, we only process our users’ personal data to the extent necessary to provide a functioning website and our content and services, or where consent has been given. The legal basis is Article 6(1) GDPR (DSGVO).

3. Provision of the website and log files

When you access this website, our hosting provider Vercel Inc. automatically collects information (including IP address, date and time, page accessed, browser type) in server log files. This data cannot be assigned to specific persons and is not combined with other data sources. Vercel Inc. is based in the USA; the transfer of data there is safeguarded by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR).

4. Local storage (theme preference)

We store your choice between the light and dark design exclusively locally in your browser (Local Storage), not on our servers. You can delete this information at any time in your browser settings.

5. Fonts used

All fonts used on this website (“Satoshi”, “Inter” and “JetBrains Mono”) are self-hosted on our own servers. No connection is made to Google Fonts or any other third-party font service, and no data is transmitted to third parties.

6. Getting in touch

If you contact us by email, we process the information you provide (including your email address, name, and message content) to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR (pre-contractual measures or our legitimate interest in responding).

To arrange a no-obligation introductory call, we link to the external scheduling service Cal.com, Inc. (USA). This is a plain link to the Cal.com website, not an embedded widget on our page. No data is transferred to Cal.com unless you click the link. Once you make a booking, you leave our website and the processing takes place directly with Cal.com under its own privacy policy.

7. Embedded videos (YouTube)

Our homepage embeds an explainer video hosted on YouTube. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

The video does not load automatically. As long as you do not click it, only a preview image served from our own server is loaded. There is no connection to Google or YouTube, and no data is transferred there.

Only when you actively start the video is a connection to YouTube's servers established. Your IP address is then transmitted to YouTube, along with information about your browser and your device. At that point YouTube may store cookies or comparable technologies on your device. If you are signed in to your Google account at the same time, YouTube can associate the video view with your account. We embed the video in extended data protection mode (youtube-nocookie.com); according to Google, no cookies for personalised advertising are set in this mode before you start the video.

The legal basis for the transfer is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you give by deliberately starting the video. If you do not start the video, no transfer takes place. Consent applies only to the individual video view; you can withdraw it for the future simply by not starting the video again.

Google also processes data in the USA. For this transfer, Google relies on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR). You can find more information on how your data is handled in Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

8. Your rights

  • Access to your stored data (Article 15 GDPR/DSGVO)
  • Rectification of inaccurate data (Article 16 GDPR/DSGVO)
  • Erasure of your data (Article 17 GDPR/DSGVO)
  • Restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR/DSGVO)
  • Data portability (Article 20 GDPR/DSGVO)
  • Objection to processing (Article 21 GDPR/DSGVO)

9. Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority about the processing of your personal data. As Mateeria App OÜ is established in Estonia, the supervisory authority responsible for us is the Estonian Andmekaitse Inspektsioon (Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate), Tatari 39, 10134 Tallinn, Estonia, email: info@aki.ee, phone: +372 627 4135, web: www.aki.ee. Under Art. 77 GDPR, you may alternatively lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in your own country of residence or workplace.

10. Changes to this privacy policy

We will adapt this privacy policy whenever our data processing changes. Status: August 2026.
